Cred

Privacy Policy

Draft for the iOS app. A lawyer-final policy ships before App Store go-live. Last updated 5 November 2026.

Who this is for

Cred is a study app for adults 18 and older. It is not a health app, not a school of record, and not a tutoring company.

What stays on this iPhone

Lecture recordings you choose to keep, stills of slides, transcripts, notes, flashcards, quiz answers, and grades stay in the app’s sandbox on the device unless you export a deck (for example an Anki TSV) or sign in and upload a lecture file you already recorded.

What the account holds

Username, email, password hash, school name, course names, and study goals. Sign-in tokens. Social profile fields you type. We do not sell this. Analytics, when on, is an allow-list of counts and enums — not lecture titles, card text, or free-text answers.

Microphone, camera, photos

Cred asks only when you record a lecture you have permission to keep, snap a slide, or pick a photo. Permission copy lives on the capture step. Recording a class is not always allowed; you decide.

Delete your account

You → Delete account removes the local session and, when signed in to the study API, deletes the user row and cascaded study data. That is the in-app path required by App Store Guideline 5.1.1(v).
